We are all very familiar with the planet we live on, even if we may not think about it very often! This planet contains many amazing countries and continents, and it is a beautiful sight to behold from space. It can also be a lot of fun to draw, and this guide on how to draw the Earth is here to help with that! We will be creating a beautiful representation of the planet that we call home by the end of these 6 steps. You will also be able to create your very own variations once you’ve mastered this one! You’re now ready to begin this step-by-step guide on how to draw the Earth in just six fun and easy steps! How to Draw The Earth – Let’s get Started! Step 1 We shall begin this guide on how to draw the Earth very simply. All we will be doing in this first step will be drawing a circle for the outline of the planet. While this is an easy step, it can be much harder when you attempt to do it free-hand. When drawing a perfect circle such as this one, you are better off using a tool such as a drawing compass. You can also make use of a drawing stencil if you don’t have a tool such as a compass on hand. In a pinch, you can even trace around a flat, round object to create the perfect circle shape. However you end up drawing it, when you have this circle we can move on to the next step! Step 2 – Draw the start of the continents Now you’re ready to add some continents to this Earth drawing. The continents will look different depending on the axis the Earth is sitting on, and we will be portraying one possible angle. You could always look at a globe or pictures online if you wish to create a different view of the Earth. For now, we will be drawing the top of what will be Asia. You can use some angular lines to draw this top of the continent as it appears in the reference image. It will also extend inward into the interior of the planet on the right. Then, we can add more to it in the next step. Step 3 – Now, draw some more of the continents Now we can add some more to the continents of your Earth drawing. First, we will extend Asia inward even more. Add some more curved lines coming down from the upper right-hand side of the continent as shown in the reference image. Then, we will be drawing the side of the African continent. This has a fairly sharp tip poking out the upper right-hand side of the continent. It will then get thinner the further you get to the base of the continent. Lastly, there is a small separate section to the lower right of Africa that you can add before step 4. Step 4 – Finish the outline of Asia Before we finish the final details of this drawing, you can now add the rest of the outline for Asia. The bottom of this continent has a few pointy portions extending outward, and much like Africa there are also a few small separate parts close to the outline. Once you have finished this section, you should see it and the African portion all connected as it appears in our reference image. Then, you are ready for those final details in the next step! Step 5 – Now, you can add in the final details of the Earth You’re almost ready to add some great colors in the final step of this guide on how to draw the Earth! First, we will finish off the final continent details in this step. To do this, we will draw the outline of Australia on the lower right-hand side of the image. There will also be some thin, long shapes that are once again separate from the main outline of the continent. Once you have added these details, you are ready for the final step of the guide! You could also add some details of your own or change things up, however. We mentioned how you could draw the Earth at a different angle to this and show off some more of the continents, so that’s one idea to try. You could also draw space in the background or add other objects like more planets or the sun! How will you finish this one off? Step 6 – Finish off your Earth drawing with some color This is the final part of this drawing, and in it you can have some fun adding some color to your creation. In our reference image, we showed you one way that you could go about coloring this image. We used blue for the oceans of the Earth, and then we went with some beautiful green shades for the continents. There are many approaches that you could go for, however, so it’s up to you to decide how you will color this! You could also try out new art tools and mediums to really give this drawing a vibrant look. We look forward to seeing how you color this one! 3 More tips to make your Earth drawing easy! Check out some amazing tips on making your Earth sketch so much easier! This drawing of the Earth that we created in this guide has already been simplified a bit, but you could simplify it even more! This could be done by making the shapes of the continents even simpler. Another way that you could make it simpler would be by using different continents for the parts of the Earth that are in view. For example, maybe you would find it easier to draw Africa and the surrounding areas. These are just a few of the ways that you could alter this drawing to make it a bit easier on yourself, but you can use any tricks and workarounds that work for you. Building on from the previous tip, you can also use alternate references to help you as you draw. There are loads of these that you could use to help with this Earth drawing. For example, you could use some pictures of the Earth online to help you get the details right. Maps and other depictions of the Earth could also be very helpful. These would also help if you wanted to create different sides of the Earth for your drawing, as we suggested earlier. Using a desk globe of the Earth would also allow you to closely examine various details from all angles. A great way to make this Earth sketch easier would be by incorporating it into a larger scene. This could be done by making a background with some twinkling stars in the distance. Then, you could even use details such as clouds over the Earth to obscure some details. By incorporating the Earth into a larger scene, you would be able to make it smaller on the page. This would mean there would be less scrutiny on the Earth, so the details would not have to be as precise. Plus, you may end up with an image that has more cool things to admire on it! What kind of background scene could you build around the Earth? Your Earth Drawing is Complete! We hope you enjoyed this artistic trip around the world as you worked on this guide on how to draw the Earth! This guide was created to show you that drawing the Earth we all call home can be a fun and easy experience to take on. If you follow the steps in this guide then we know you will create an incredible picture in no time! When you have finished the guide, you can then take it even further by adding your own extra details and ideas to really bring it to life. It will be great to see the creativity you bring to this image of the Earth! The fun doesn’t have to end here either!
