If you are on the look out for some simple Thanksgiving crafts to make with your kids next month, I’ve got you covered. Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some fun turkey crafts that are perfect for making on Thanksgiving Day or can be made early to help decorate your home for the holiday. First up, we created this super cute Styrofoam cup turkey craft for kids. It’s simple to make and makes a darling festive decoration on a mantel or table display.

HOW TO MAKE A STYROFOAM TURKEY CRAFT FOR KIDS

Supplies you will need:

small styrofoam cup (found at Walmart or Dollar Tree) brown acrylic paint paintbrush  brown, orange, yellow and red cardstock paper 3-inch circle punch (optional) googly eyes feathers (red, orange, yellow) tacky glue scissors glue dots

Directions:

  1. Start by painting the outside of your styrofoam cup with your brown paint and set it aside to dry completely.

  2. Cut a 3-inch circle out of your brown cardstock paper. Also cut a triangle beak, heart shaped snood and accordion folded orange feet.

  3. Once your cup has dried, use glue dots to glue the brown face onto the front of the cup. Add tacky glue onto the back of the cup and place several feathers on it in a layered look.

  4. Finish your turkey by gluing on the beak, snood, googly eyes and feet.
